You can have real-time synchronous discussions online using the Chat Activity. Insight chat is based on 'chat', a simple Unix program that allows computer user to communicate with each other using command line text messages. Chat is a useful way for students to gain a different understanding of each other and as a way to discuss the topics at hand. Chats can be scheduled for particular times, recurring or one time only. Chat logs can be saved and made viewable to students. The Chat activity is accessible to screen reader software (Section 508/ADA compliance) by allowing the user to turn off "frames" and view the chat inline on the page.
