Forums in Insight
Forums is the area in Insight where online discussion occurs between students and teachers about any given topic. Forums can be structured in different ways, and can include instructor rating of each posting. The postings can be viewed in a variety for formats, and can include attachments.
What is a Discussion Forum? The discussion forum is one of the most important tools in Insight. A discussion forum is an online bulletin board: students and teachers can post messages and respond to each other's posts. Teachers (and students if teachers allow) can also post links, display images, link to course glossary entries, and upload documents to discussion post threads.
There are two types of postings that can be created in forums:
Static posts can be announcements from teachers to students about course information or updates.
Interactive posts allow for discussion through replies to posts. Students can respond to questions or discussion prompts created by instructors, students can respond to other students' posts, the discussion forums can be used for groups to post data to the class and solicit feedback...the possibilities for using discussion forums are endless.
